Culture Mapping Workbook
Your experience at work is shaped not only by your role and responsibilities, but also by the culture around you — the patterns, expectations, and values that guide how work gets done. Sometimes these cultural patterns align closely with your preferences and strengths. Other times, gaps emerge — areas where what you need and what your firm emphasizes don’t fully match.
This workbook is designed to help you:
See the landscape – Explore six key cultural influences and twelve dimensions that shape daily work.
Spot the gaps – Identify where your own preferences align or misalign with your firm, office, team, or project.
Name your needs – Clarify what helps you perform at your best, stay engaged, and feel fulfilled.
Take action – Use the 7-step framework to reflect, experiment, and commit to small, meaningful shifts.
How the workbook is structured
You’ll move through the workbook in a few stages:
Scan all six influences and twelve dimensions to get familiar with the framework.
Complete your self and firm ratings on the 1–5 scale.
Transfer your results to the Culture Map for a visual snapshot.
Identify your top three values — and your firm’s — using the Ranking Values worksheet.
Dive deeper into the dimension pages, where the 7-step framework will guide you in exploring misalignments and committing to actions.
Why this matters
Misalignments don’t necessarily mean something is wrong — they’re natural and often unavoidable. What matters is how you respond to them. By surfacing and reflecting on gaps, you can learn to navigate them more intentionally, turning potential friction into opportunities for growth, dialogue, and experimentation.
